Portishead

Saturday 17th – Sunday 18th July 2021

After completing the 5K Tough Mudder we got showered, made ourselves decent and headed off to Portishead for the night to visit Fi and Alex.

We arrived at the air B&B ‘studio apartment’ and while it served its purpose it was a tad on the snug and compact side (suspect it was a garage in it’s previous life!!)

Lovely evening in the garden with lots of bubbles and homemade pizza, plus the most amazing homemade garlic pizza bread before we walked back and flaked out absolutely shattered (after carefully positioning the fans as it was like a sauna!)

Instant coffee to start the day (urgh), followed by breaking the bed and finishing with Steve pulling the shower door off and we were ready to head off for breakfast. Got all the way round the marina and realised we’d forgotten our masks so Steve had a morning run back to get them.

Nice breakfast but possibly the slowest service ever and despite the awning being closed Steve was still sat in the only sunny spot of the restaurant! Quick pack up of our stuff…minus the fan…and we headed back for another couple of hours in the sunny garden with Alex and Fi before heading home.
