Portofino

A very late (and drunken) night made for a very slow and tired start to the day. Early alarm for the walking tour so no coffee on the balcony this morning. Up and out for a quick breakfast before heading to the meeting point. Portofino is so small the ship was anchored nearby and we were taken to land by tenderboats.

The weather was really really hot and the walking tour involved quite a bit of walking up hills, not too strenuous for us but there were a few people who nearly didn’t make it! The lady leading the tour gave some really interesting information, until her microphone stopped working and we could hear nothing though the headsets. At that point we abandoned the tour, wet our own way and found some ice cream before heading back over to the ship for lunch.

After lunch we did a tour of the ship to video for memories, through the art gallery and discovering and coffee bar with lots of cakes and a lovely fresh juice and smoothie cafe where Steve got a disgusting juice and Vikki got a delicious smoothie. We walked a full lap of the running track for the video…twice as Steve wasn’t actually recording the first time round!

After a G&T on the balcony and a rest we enjoyed cocktails and quirkle before dinner at Eden restaurant and a lovely sunset.
