First weekend with the MX5

We have our new car – woohoo! Steve braved the passenger seat and Vikki drove – a nervous start but no bumps, scratches, stalling, shouting or arguments so I would class it a success!

Salisbury

Given the awful weather we were super lucky to have sun and the roof down all day. We decided to head to Salisbury for a long drive and a nice pub lunch…ended up going all the way to Salisbury to go to Currys and get batteries and a lightening cable!

Mottisfont

Popped in past Mottisfont National Trust for a walk around which was lovely – saw lots of pumpkins and the most enormous sunflowers but it was cut short as Vikki wasn’t feeling well.

Stopped off at The Goat to enjoy lunch outside in the September sun – Vikki had the best steak pie ever.  Oh and we were commenting on how new and nice everything seemed…turned out it was all completely refurbished 2 months ago so really was new.

Day ended not quite as planned with an ambulance car and paramedic visiting us at Steve’s, a trip to the out of hours doctors and a raging kidney infection for Vikki.

Sunday 29th Sept 2019

While Vikki spent the whole day on the sofa feeling sorry for herself Steve spent it taking apart the car bit by bit and putting it in the living room like a big MX5 puzzle!!

The plan was to fit Apple CarPlay, a phone cradle and a reversing camera.  All successfully accomplished apart from the cradle, it didn’t quite work as we don’t have a left hand drive car!
