Alan Carr

Booked in 2019 originally for 2020, so over two years, 4 reschedules and covid making a last minute childcare problem we finally got to see Alan Carr at the Mayflower, Southampton.

Quick dinner after work and an easy drive there meant we arrived in plenty of time to park and have a quick drink in the bar next door, however we did have to sit in the basement rather than enjoy the gorgeous weather!

We had good visibility of the stage but the seats were very high up in the gallery and involved climbing 84 steps to get up there! Vikki had a urge for chocolate so ended up with expensive malteasers and rather peculiar vegan ice cream in the interval!

The 30min support act was a lady from Newcastle who was a bit funny but not great, Alan finally came on stage after the interval. The show was great, his material wasn’t the greatest but his delivery made it very entertaining. Unfortunately we had to leave early but what we did see was great.
