Bombay Sapphire Distillery
Sunday 26th May 2019

After drinking a lot of different gins on the cruise we went for a very nice trip to Laverstoke visiting the Bombay Sapphire Distillery, where we learned all about how the gin is created with a guide tour.
We now know that infusing makes for a better gin than steeping and boiling, but that you have to be producing huge quantities of gin to make it worthwhile.

Smelt many of the different ‘flavours’ several of which left a lot to be desired. Steve clearly isn’t too fussy and selected at least one from every different group, Vikki was a bit more selective (or some could say fussy!)

One non-alcoholic cocktail later, Steve’s was definitely the nicer of the two, a wander round the shop and we left with our gin goody bags for later.
They produced more than 60 million bottles of gin in 2018 – wonder how many of them Vikki drank?!
